Newly renovated prior to the 2017 season, the field is symmetrical left-to-right, with a 320-foot fence down the lines and a 365-foot distance in to the center-field wall. The infield received an artificial turf installation in 2013. The pitchers mound was also replaced with artificial turf prior to the 2016 season. The latest renovation taking place prior to the 2017 home opener also replaced the outfield, warning track and bullpens with artificial turf - making the entire playing surface synthetic turf.

The facility was dedicated to legendary 28-year NKU baseball coach Bill Aker in 2001. Aker founded the baseball program and was elected into the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame on Jan. 4, 2013.

Located next to Regents Hall and the Albright Health Center, the Bill Aker Baseball Complex has a seating capacity of 500 and plays host to not only NKU baseball, but a multitude of baseball events throughout the year, including high school games and travel tournaments.
